45 x 70 x 70 mm
We aim to send all order out the following business day from when the order was placed, however due to an overly high demand we occasionaly find ourselves out of stock for up to ~2 weeks. If you would like to know before purchasing, please get in contact with us here.
How does the fire starter actually work?
Well, the porous stone soaks up the oil so that when lit, it burns long and slow giving enough time for your logs to catch and the fire to get well underway.
Where can I get extra oil from?
Each Fire Starter sold in NZ comes with enough oil to get you going, for topping it up you'll find it in most hardware stores, look for 'odorless lamp oil' in the flammable section. It's cheap and comes in 1-4ltr bottles usually.
Do I keep the fire starter stone in the fire, or remove it once lit?
Once lit, we recommend removing the stone and placing it to the side before going back into the pot. It is ok to leave the stone in the oil for long periods as long as it's not still hot.
We recommend removing the stone from the fireplace once the oil has burnt and the fire is going. However, we realise that it's easy to forget about that and these stones are then subject to very high temperatures and can degrade over time.
Replacement stones are available for you here. We sell them by themselves as just the stone (no eyebolt), as the eyebolts are extremely durable and can be used for a very long time.
